SCOPE
SCOPE
Hire The House came to us as a costume rental brand under the House of Pyramid family, needing a full retail brand rather than just a logo and colour palette. We led every part of the project ourselves, covering the visual identity, the e-commerce website and UX, the logistics of the rental process, the packaging and the ongoing social media creative.
From the first sketch of the frame motif through to the sticker on the returns bag, every piece of the brand was built and delivered by us, giving Hire The House one team behind the whole experience.

PROBLEM
PROBLEM
Hire The House needed an identity that felt playful and glamorous, with a cheeky edge that matched the fantasy of stepping into a costume, while still working as a slick and trustworthy rental business. Beyond the visual identity, nobody had mapped how a customer should move through the rental journey, from browsing costumes online to a package landing on their doorstep and being sent back again.
We needed to design the UX of that entire process so it felt seamless rather than confusing, covering everything from sizing and checkout through to returns, while keeping the packaging and unboxing feeling as fabulous as the costumes themselves, all within a limited budget.

We developed the Hire The House visual identity, from the primary logo and monogram through to colour, typography and the signature house frame that runs through every touchpoint. We call this frame the portal, a window into another world, the same feeling you get putting on a costume and stepping into becoming someone else. It shows the customer a glimpse of the fabulous version of themselves waiting on the other side of a Hire The House rental, and we used it to frame photography, hold copy and lead people through the site and social content.
We then designed and built the e-commerce website, wireframing and mapping the UX from landing page through to checkout, and worked through the logistics of how a rental should actually function, from availability and sizing through to returns slips and packaging stickers. On a limited budget we also designed the packaging, and we continue to run the social media creative, designing templates and content, and producing and editing video with full creative direction.

OUTCOME
OUTCOME
The result is a brand and website that gives customers a proper self-serve space to rent professional costumes, without the back and forth of emailing to check sizing, availability or delivery. The whole journey, from landing on the site to the costume arriving and being sent back, now runs seamlessly, so the fantasy starts the moment someone opens the page rather than after days of messages.
With one team behind the strategy, identity, UX, packaging and social, Hire The House launched with a cohesive brand across every part of the business, and the portal keeps showing customers the version of themselves they get to become.
